Hammer the spacebar as fast as you can. We count every press and turn it into a speed. The clock starts the moment you press it the first time.

How the spacebar clicker works

The spacebar clicker measures how many times you can press the space bar in a set window. Choose a duration, then tap the space bar as fast as you can. The timer starts on your first press and stops on its own, so your whole run counts and nothing is wasted on reaction time. Your speed is presses divided by seconds, so 90 presses in a 10-second run is 9 per second.

Prefer no pressure? Switch to No timer and the counter just climbs until you hit stop โ€” handy for going after a giant total or for warming up before a timed attempt. Every duration keeps its own personal best on this device.

What is a good spacebar speed?

A steady one-finger tap sits around 6 to 7 presses per second, the same ballpark as a normal mouse click. Push past 8 and you are quick; hold above 10 for a full run and you are among the fastest. Short runs let you sprint, longer ones test whether you can keep the pace up.

How to press the spacebar faster

  • Alternate two fingers on the bar instead of tapping with one โ€” two fingers taking turns beats a single finger.
  • Use both thumbs on a phone; a touchscreen taps just as fast as a key.
  • Stay loose. Tensing your whole hand slows you down. Short bursts beat a death grip.

If you came here from clicking, the mouse version is the CPS test, and the tap speed test is the same idea for a touchscreen.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good spacebar speed?

Around 6 to 7 presses per second is average. Above 8 is fast, and holding over 10 for a whole run is excellent.

How do I hit the spacebar faster?

Alternate two fingers, or use two thumbs on a phone, and keep your hand relaxed. Short bursts beat tensing up.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes โ€” tap the pad instead of pressing a key. The count and your speed work exactly the same.

What is the no-timer mode for?

It just counts presses with no clock, so you can chase a big total or warm up before a timed run.
